Stormy Studio were approached by Euroheat & Power to produce a 2D renewables animated explainer, to help highlight the EU funded REWARDheat programme and how it intends to demostrate the benefits of district level heating and cooling networks.
Through a use of bespoke 2D motion graphics, design and animation our UK animation studio explained the core concepts in a clear way that required little to no text. Complimenting the voicover and script.
Engaging visuals that worked with the REWARDheat colour pallete.
Animated Circular Transitions
In order to give the video a unique look and feel. Early on in production discussion we decided to explore the use of circular 2D layers and cross sections to build up some of the main scenes.
This 2D transition technique allowed for a stylish way to reveal the heating and cooling network beneath a city, as well as move from scene to scene.
"Early on we knew we wanted to create a stylised network of renewable energy sources.
This allowed for a detailed composition that helps the video stand out as a high quality renewables animated explainer."
Renewable Iconography
& Motion Graphics
As with many explainer animations, there comes a time when some iconography makes the most sense.
We took the time to design bespoke illustrated assets which were brought to life by our animation studio team. Resulting in a smart collection of renewable energy motion graphics.
Designed in house.. animated from home
The whole renewables explainer animation was made by our trusted Stormy Studio team, with the initial storyboarding and design work completed in the studio.
However, as a result of the Covid-19 Pandemic and resulting distancing measures throughout 2020, the animation was brought to life remotely with our team then wokring from home.
Fortunately through the benefits afforded through Dropbox, Slack, Zoom and some other cloud video review services. The production was able to continue without impacting the project or any deadlines.
