Stormy Studio was approached by UK Power Networks to create a 3D animated safety video to highlight the importance of PPE safety equipment. We’ve produced a good number of animated videos for UK Power Networks over the years and we’re always looking for ways to help them deliver their buisness messages in engaging and effective ways.
This engaging 3D animated safety video was designed with a semi-real approach. After looking into detail at the target audience and where the video would be played out, it was decided that a realistic approach (as opposed to the stylised cartoon) would be best to deliver the health and safety message.
As the audience are largely onsite engineers we took a fairly straight talking approach with digital techy visuals.
The PPE animation points out how the users of the safety equipment should check for wear and tear, cleanliness, unapproved stickers and expiry dates on all their safety equipment.
Our design team collaborated with the client as we went through initial scripting, storyboarding and 3D asset and environment design to deliver a professionally produced 3D animated safety video.
We had few rounds of tweaks during the storyboarding phase as we looked to ensure the 3D animated safety video script could be as succinct as possible. Everyone was aware that the subject matter was fairly dry, so to keep the audience engaged we tried to keep the key info to remove any unnecessary detail and produce a video of just the right length.
The final 3D animated safety video was well received by the whole team at UK Power Networks and we look forward to creating similar detailed 3D animated safety videos in the future.
